The Mosman location of Four Brothers Espresso is a cosy and community focussed café that has already been embraced by locals and cultured coffee commuters alike.
We rock up on a chilled-out Sunday afternoon and are immediately welcomed into the relaxed space with an inviting smile from one of the four brothers, Mitchell. Like any talented barista, Mitchell already has our coffee orders frothing as we take a seat and begin perusing the deliciously healthy menu. With a jewel case of naturally decadent goodies and a selection of expertly crafted café favourites by Chef Shirley de Jesus, it doesn’t take long for us to order up.
Extracted from the Four Brothers Espresso in-house roast by the skilled hands of Mitchell, the cappuccino pops with bold, smooth flavours with nutty notes, and a dark chocolate finish.
Suffice to say, we come across A LOT of bacon and eggs rolls in our café adventures. It’s an Aussie café staple and can make, or break, a cafés reputation. For that reason, it’s a big thing when you find a café that has struck the perfect balance of tweaking this humble brekkie sandwich with enough creativity to make it standout, but not so much that it forgets its origins. Shirley has got that balancing act down pat. With highlights like caramelised onions, truffle oil, cheese, and rocket, this handful of yum is spot on and quite possibly the best bacon and egg roll we’ve had in Sydney to date.
I’m a big fan of the breakfast bowl craze that’s sweeping through our café culture, and like the innovative take on their bacon and egg roll, Four Brothers Espresso has conjured up an Acai Bowl that blossoms with colour, texture and freshness. With a chilled acai base and generous toppings of banana, strawberries, and granola, the bowl is vibrant with naturally sweet flavours and a satisfying crunch.
