There’s a great cover by Ike and Tina Turner, that has in the first few chords a lyric that includes “…Why now, every now and then, I think you might like to hear something from us nice and easy…”, and Proud Mary in Collingwood exudes that same feeling of the song that helped propel Tina Turner into mega stardom.
I was talking to a couple coffee buffs here in Sydney over the past fortnight and we exchanged stories about our coffee adventures down in Melbourne, and for each of one of us, our first stop was Proud Mary. It seems as though it’s a rite of passage to begin any coffee adventure in Melbourne in this coffee institution.
You know you’re in a serious coffee joint when you walk past the 2.5 metre long 6-group Synesso. For me, it’s unforgettable. I refer it to as the blue bus – it’s an impressive machine!
